Canada is seeking individuals who are Investors, entrepreneurs, and self-employed individuals with significant capital or unique skills and experience that can contribute to the Canadian economy.

    1. The Self-Employed Program seeks to bring people who will become self-employed in Canada, and who display the ability to support themselves financially. To qualify for this program, you must have either:
      • Relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics, and
        • intend and be able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada, or
      • Experience in managing a farm, and
        • intend and be able to buy and manage a farm in Canada.
    2. The Entrepreneur Start-Up Visa Program is also another option that recruits individuals who will bring their innovative foreign experience/businesses, and who will create new jobs and contribute to economic growth in Canada. The Government of Canada will assist qualified individuals to become established in Canada by providing funding, guidance, and expertise in operating their businesses in Canada.
    3. Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program.

The Key requirements for the program are:

      • You must have a personal net worth of CDN $10 million or more. Your net worth must have been acquired through lawful, private sector business or investment activities.
      • You must be willing and able to make an at-risk investment (non-guaranteed) of CDN $2 million in the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Fund.
      • If you are one of the immigrant investors approved under this program, you will be required to enter into an agreement with Canadian Government committing a sum of CDN $2 million to the IIVC Fund for approximately 15 years.
      • Language skills test proving proficiency in English or French
      • Canadian post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate of at least one year or equivalent foreign education validated by an ECA report from IRCC designated organizations.

Inadmissibility

Some people are inadmissible – they are not allowed to come to Canada. Many things can make you inadmissible, such as being involved in criminal activity, in human rights violations or in organized crime.

You can also be inadmissible for security, health or financial reasons.

If you are inadmissible to Canada, you cannot apply under the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Pilot Program as your application will be refused.
